There are a lot of rumours circulating that as of 18th July 2022 it is necessary to have received a booster of the COVID-19 vaccination. These rumours are not correct.
You can read the current regulations here in Indonesian or here in unofficial English translation. These state that it is still only necessary to have received your second vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel. The Indonesian government has not updated their policy on what counts as fully vaccinated so it is still two shots of Moderna or Astrazenica or one shot of the single dose vaccines such as Johnson & Johnson.
How to travel to Bali in 2022
There are a number of ways you can now enjoy a holiday, extended travel or work in Bali.
The first time you do your Bali visa extension you will need to go to immigration to have your fingerprints and photograph taken. This applies to people with the following visas:
How long before expiry do I need to start the Bali visa extension process?
For those with B211a, B211b and VOA you will need to give us your passport and fee 7 days before your visa expires.
To extend a KITAS you will need to go for fingerprints and photos when the KITAS has already been applied for so it is late in the process and we will let you know with at least 1 week's notice when you need to go.
Do I have to got for fingerprints and photographs for every extension?
No. You only need to visit immigration so they can take your fingerprints and photograph the first time you extend your visa. For future extensions you just need to give your passport and the fee to our agents in the Visa Agency Bali Berawa office and we will process the extension entirely for you.
What is the price of a Bali tourist visa extension?
The extension for B211a & B211b onshore and offshore visas is 60 days and the price is IDR 2,750,000.
For the B211 visas you can get the 60 day extension twice. For the VOA you can get the 30 day extension once.
When will I need to go to Bali immigration for fingerprinting?
We will tell you the appointment time to visit immigration. It is usually 7 days after you submit your passport to us for the extension. It will be at Jimbaran or Denpasar immigration office depending on your address in Bali, and we will inform you which office to go to. If you have plans to travel around Indonesia or the island of Bali please let us know so we can make the appointment on the appropriate day.
What are the steps for fingerprinting at Bali immigration?
Before your appointment, we will send you your billing by WhatsApp. Please bring this with you and take the following steps:
Arrive at the Immigration office we told you of 10 minutes before your appointment time
Go to the Customer Service counter and show your billing, you will get a queue number
Wait until your number or your name is called by the officer and come to the fingerprint room
Have your photo and fingerprints taken and give your queue number to the officer who will stamp and sign it
Take a picture of your stamp and signed queue number and send it to us via WhatsApp
When you have had your fingerprints taken, you can leave the Immigration office and we will text you when your visa extension is done.
How long does a Bali visa extension take?
From start to finish the process is usually around 2 weeks. 1 week prior to fingerprinting and then 1 week until you will get your passport back. If you need it faster we can do express service for an additional IDR 1,000,000. If you need to travel around Indonesia it is possible with another form of official ID and a photocopy of your passport.

The visa requirements remain the same and we have explained them in detail here.
Until this week, there has been a lack of clarity on what is required for children who are 12 years old and under to travel to Bali, Indonesia.
We are happy to inform you that as long as the child is travelling with their parent, they do not have to follow the same stringent rules to obtain the B211 offshore visa.
Children who are 12 years old and under are not required to be vaccinated. They can instead have a letter from their doctor declaring them healthy and free from COVID-19 symptoms. We have an example of this letter available to our clients upon request.
For more information on requirements for the B211 Offshore Visa, take a look at this post.
For adults, the requirements for the B211 offshore visa are detailed below:
Why did some people only ask me for a copy of my passport and proof of vaccine?
Do I really need to provide my flight booking details?
Can I use a letter from my doctor instead of a PCR test for the visa application?
Do I really need to organise my travel insurance now?
We understand why a lot of people are confused by the application process for the B211 Offshore Visa. Some of the requirements don't seem necessary at the application stage. So today we are explaining why we ask for the documents we require.
This is a list of the documents we need for the B211 offshore visa application:
We ask for these because each one is required by the immigration regulations and the visa application system. There is no way to submit the application without uploading all of these documents.
The image below shows the application page for the B211 Offshore Visa. We have marked the documents required for the B211 Offshore Visa application with the red line. If these documents are not uploaded, it is not possible to click ‘Done & Send’ to submit the application.
But, in some cases, there are alternative options, which we explain below.
Overall, something needs to be uploaded for each of the requirements on the list that we have marked with the red line. But...
*** Instead of a negative PCR test, it is possible to upload a letter from your doctor stating you are healthy with no signs of COVID-19.
*** If you are unable to get the vaccine for medical reasons, we can upload a letter from your doctor detailing the medical reasons.
It is important to understand that if the person helping with your visa application does not ask you for everything that is marked on this list, they will be uploading a document that is not genuine in its place.
As a result of these practices, we have heard of cases where people who are not our clients had problems using their visa. Some were turned away by immigration in Jakarta because the information from their application did not match their situation. Others were not allowed to board the plane as they did not have an onwards ticket.
We want to ensure all our clients arrive in Indonesia safely and without stress and hassle. We follow the regulations exactly to make sure our clients can travel with confidence and security.

Entering Indonesia in 2021
Many airlines have additional requirements at this time. We have detailed them below. Please print everything out and have it with you when you travel.
1. 5 days quarantine in Jakarta
You are required to do 5 days quarantine in Jakarta. There is a selection of hotels to choose from for your quarantine which you can book through this link.
2. Negative COVID test result
This is needed by airlines and Indonesian immigration. It needs to be a PCR test with a QR code and has to be done within 3 days of when you will land in Indonesia.
3. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine
Needs to be a full dose vaccine. If you cannot take the vaccine we need a letter from your doctor stating the medical reason why you cannot have the vaccine.
4. Onwards flight
Like before COVID, many airlines will check you have an onward flight when checking you in, to ensure you don’t overstay your visa. These don’t have to be a return ticket, just one showing a journey outside of Indonesia. Make sure it is within 180 days of you landing in Indonesia. It may be fitting for you to get a flexible or refundable ticket.
5. Download and fill in your details with the E-HAC app
You will need to have downloaded the E-HAC app from Apple or Google and fill in the details of your journey ready to show the QR code to Indonesia immigration in Jakarta.
6. Immigration questions
You may be asked what the purpose is of your visit to Indonesia. Please check with us so you know who your sponsor is etc.
Key Facts about the B211 Visa
The initial visa validity is 60 days.
You can then extend the visa 4 x for 30 days each time, so the maximum visa validity is 180 days (these days include the day you land and leave.)
Each extension needs to be applied for at least 4 business days before your visa validity expires and costs IDR 800k.
If you leave Indonesia before your visa is expired, your visa will be voided and you will have to get a new one if you wish to return to Indonesia.
For the first extension, you will need to go to the immigration office to get fingerprinted and photographed. We have an agent at the office who will meet you and guide you through the process quickly.
After the first extension, all you will need to do is give us your passport and we will manage your future extensions for you.
You cannot work in Indonesia using this visa. If you would like to know more about living and working in Indonesia, do get in touch and we’ll talk you through the options.
We get asked this question a lot by Investor KITAS clients in Bali, Indonesia, who have a PT PMA Company.
With the Investor KITAS, you are allowed to manage your company in Indonesia.
Jobs you are permitted to do include:
Meetings with suppliers & staff
Staff training
Online marketing activities
Give talks & lectures
Manage the business finances
Negotiate large business deals
Visit the site of your business & potential new business locations
The Investor KITAS does not allow you to do manual work for your company.
Examples of work you cannot do:
Serve customers on a small scale. For instance, you cannot work at the cash register, serve food to tables or take orders
Teach a class, such as yoga, fitness or surfing
Perform at a venue, such as singing or playing an instrument in a band
Undertake manual marketing activities, such as doing product photography or setting up your stand at events
If the work you want to do in Bali, Indonesia, falls into these later categories, you will need a working KITAS rather than an Investor KITAS.
For more information on setting up a PT PMA company in Bali (required to sponsor an Investor KITAS), applying for the Investor KITAS, and the associated costs, take a look at our post here.

At Visa Agency Bali we sometimes get asked why we ask for more documents for the B211 offshore visa application than some other agencies who only ask for a copy of your passport. Today we are going to explain why we do this.
Below is the list of documents we need, which are explained further in this blog post.
We ask for these because each one is required by the immigration regulations and the visa application system. There is no way to submit the application without all of these documents.
The images below show the application page for both the B211 Offshore Visa and the A211 Onshore Social Visa.
We have marked the documents required for the B211 Offshore Visa application with the red dot. If these documents are not uploaded, it is not possible to click 'Done & Send' to submit the application.
We have heard of cases where people who are not our clients had problems using their visa. Some were not allowed to board the plane as they did not have an onwards ticket. Others were turned away by immigration in Jakarta because the information from their application did not match their situation.
We want to ensure all our clients arrive in Indonesia safely and without stress and hassle. We follow the regulations exactly to make sure our clients can travel with confidence and security.
We are excited to announce that our agency is now able to help people wanting an Artist (Impresariat) KITAS.
The maximum duration for an Impresariat KITAS is 6 months. To process the visa takes 4 weeks with our standard service and 2 weeks with our express service.
The KITAS is only available onshore and the price is IDR12,500,000 for our standard 4-week service. You will also need to pay the visa fee (USD 150) and 6 months' tax (USD 600) upfront. If you have a company that will sponsor your visa the price is IDR 10,500,000. For both options, if you would like our 2 week express service, this will cost an additional IDR 3,000,000.

You are required to do 8 days quarantine in Jakarta. There are a selection of hotels to chose from for your quarantine. Please contact us for the up to date list.
2. Negative COVID test result
This is needed by airlines and Indonesian immigration. It needs to be a PCR test and has to be done within 7 days of when you will land in Indonesia.
3. Fit to fly letter
Many airlines are asking for a 'fit to fly' letter in addition to a negative COVID test result. You'll need to contact your airline in advance to check their regulations and requirements.
4. Onwards flight
Like before COVID, many airlines will check you have an onward flight when checking you in, to ensure you don't overstay your visa. These don't have to be a return ticket, just one showing a journey outside of Indonesia.
We have an agent at the office to who will meet you and guide you through the process quickly.
After the first extension, all you will need to do is give us your passport and we will manage your future extensions for you.
You cannot work in Indonesia using this visa. If you would like to know more about living and working in Indonesia, do get in touch and we'll talk you through the options.
